Sen. Martinez to Meet, Discuss Judiciary with U.S. Supreme Court Nominee

U.S. Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL) today confirmed he is slated to have a private meeting with United States Supreme Court Associate Justice nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9. The day President Obama announced Judge Sotomayors nomination, Senator Martinez said, When it comes to judicial candidates, we ought to look at experience, fairness, impartiality, temperament, and knowledge of the law. I look forward to participating in a fair and thorough process as the Senate conducts its constitutionally-required examination of Judge Sotomayors qualifications for serving on the nations highest court.
